A few sentences on your Peer to Peer: Facebook Global Digital Challenge program experience: Not so long ago, I joined in P2P XU campaigns as a volunteer. But it was only this year that I became an official member as the project’s layout artist. My experience with the P2P challenge is like getting myself out of my comfort zone. I am thankful that I joined because in this program, I was able to discover my strengths and improve my weaknesses too. Not only did it help me grow as a person, but my home, Mindanao, as well.

A few sentences on why your project so important/impactful: Threat to our peace doesn’t only happen face-to-face, but online as well. Now that many people, especially the youth, are exposed to social media, the recruitment of people to join violent extremists online is likely to occur as well. With that, I Am Mindanao campaign opposes the group’s objective by creating a positive environment online by encouraging the youth to spread this advocacy. In this way the voices of the youth will be heard. I Am Mindanao will always be relevant, as long as peace and harmony are disturbed.
